Passionate in our duty to empower the healthcare system

Since 2019, we have striven to give power back to the healthcare system. It should be simple to find healthcare personnel, and we are convinced that a direct dialog between healthcare providers and healthcare personnel simplifies this process, and creates a deeper relationship between employers and employees. This produces continuity – something that ultimately benefits patients and the healthcare system as a whole.

How it all began

Dr. Meybod Kia, a specialist in Family Medicine, took an assignment at a clinic in northern Sweden through a staffing agency to try something new. He was happy there, was very popular with the patients, and would have liked to stay. However, one day the staffing agency informed him that the clinic no longer needed him. It later turned out the clinic had heard Meybod himself wanted to leave. And instead, they had employed a less experienced clinician – for the same cost.

The winner in this story was the staffing agency, which had taken on a cheaper clinician and thus increased its profits. The losers were the patients and the taxpayers. Meybod decided to do something to combat these short-term staffing solutions, which are so expensive for the healthcare system. Soon after, he met Hani Movahed, a software engineer... and Eppow was born. Meybod and Hani interviewed clinicians, nurses, and county councils to understand what was required to create the conditions for secure, long-term assignments and jobs. Both healthcare providers and professionals reacted very positively and a new meeting place took shape. Today Eppow has thousands of satisfied users – and the number increases every day!
